Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina of Bangladesh has resigned amid significant unrest. The protests, which culminated in the storming of her residence, resulted in nearly 100 deaths, including 14 police officers. The demonstrations were partly driven by opposition to a quota system reserving 30% of government jobs for war veterans' relatives. Hasina fled to India, where she was received by Indian officials. The Bangladeshi government declared a holiday and cut mobile internet services to curb the unrest
