The anti-discrimination student movement has called for a non-cooperation movement across the country on Sunday. At this time, around 11 o'clock in the Shahbagh area, the protesters chased the leaders and workers of Awami League.
Hundreds of people have gathered at the capital's Shahbag intersection with sticks. After 10:30 in the morning, they came to Shahbagh with a procession from the direction of Old Dhaka. At that time, Awami League leaders and workers were shouting slogans in front of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU). However, they were chased by the procession coming from the direction of Old Dhaka. They entered the hospital. As of writing this report, the clash was going on around 11 am.
During the clashes, several cars kept in the hospital premises were vandalized. At that time, Awami League leaders and workers who took shelter inside the hospital were throwing bricks.
During the procession, slogans were raised in one point of demand. It is also said, 'Why did my brother die, the administration wants an answer.'
Earlier in the morning, when two or three protestors were passing through Shahbagh area, BCL leaders-activists beat them up. Later the protestors got organized. At that time, no police was seen in Shahbagh area.
A police vehicle was seen moving away after seeing the protesters coming in the Shahbag police station area.
