Kamala Harris calls for a ceasefire to resolve the Palestine-Israel conflict, urging pro-Palestine protestors in Arizona that "now is the time" and expressing her respect for their voices.




Vice President Kamala Harris confidently told pro-Palestine protesters at her Arizona rally that the moment has arrived for a ceasefire to end the conflict between Palestine and Israel.

On Friday, August 9, Kamala Harris held a campaign rally in Phoenix, Arizona, where she was interrupted by pro-Palestine protesters who repeatedly chanted, "Free, free Palestine." This marked the second time that week that Harris faced disruptions from demonstrators concerned about the ongoing conflict in Gaza. Earlier, on Wednesday, August 7, during a rally in Detroit, Michigan, protesters interrupted Harris with chants of "Kamala, Kamala, you can’t hide. We won’t vote for genocide." In response, Harris firmly replied, "If you want Donald Trump to win, then say that. Otherwise, I’m speaking."


On Thursday, August 8, Phil Gordon, the Vice President's national security adviser, stated that she opposes an arms embargo on Israel, despite some protestors calling for it. Posting on X, he emphasized that the Vice President has consistently maintained that Israel must be able to defend itself against Iran and Iran-backed terrorist groups. He also noted that she remains committed to protecting civilians in Gaza and upholding international humanitarian law.

At her campaign rally in Arizona, Vice President Kamala Harris responded to the pro-Palestinian protestors by acknowledging that "now is the time" to pursue a ceasefire to end the conflict between Palestine and Israel. She emphasized the importance of unity, stating that everyone present shared a love for the country and a commitment to democracy, which includes respecting the diverse voices being heard.


She emphasized, "I've made my position clear. It's crucial to secure a cease-fire and finalize the hostage deal now. This is the moment, and both the president and I are tirelessly working every day to achieve this. While I acknowledge your concerns, our focus here today is on the 2024 race."
